Goodmorning!
Woke up to a lovely sunrise and a hue that covered the little meadow I was sleeping in.
I packed up, gathered my stuff and got on the road at 8:30am.
This mornings walk was lovely. The forest is so green along the Spanish coast.
Birds of a Feather was stuck in my head all morning. I could vividly hear my sister humming it, nodding her head side to side and tapping her fingers to the beat on her steering wheel while she drives.
I passed up Josefine. She was in her vibe with her headphones in so I didn’t bother her too much.
I then caught up with Noa, Tom,and Lucy, sitting at a cafe. It’s Noa’s birthday today.
We hung out for a bit but they got on the road shortly after I arrived since they’ve already been sitting there for 45 minutes.
I charged my phone, filled up my water, and uploaded pictures to yesterday’s journal.
Got back on the road solo.
I love the overgrowth on this route. Spent some time imagining what my dream house would look like.
A little Spanish style cottage house.
I then did a lot of planning about my future career.
One thing I have become more aware about how much mental clarity I have everyday when I’m walking, compared to when I’m laying down.
So I then did a lot of research on why that happens. It relates to how physical activity increases blood flow to the brain, releases endorphins, reducing stress, and enhancing creativity.
When walking the Camino, my mind turns into a playground for life planning where ideas flow freely and future goals feel exciting.
I’ve been using it to its fullest potential and it’s amazing.
Going to start learning how I can replicate this for when I’m no longer walking the Camino.
I then caught up with Tom, Noa, and Lucy having a break in the street and dancing. I joined them and ate my bell pepper. Like an apple.
We then continued on, taking a quick stop at a supermarket to get fruits.
Then we arrived at the albergue, a little past Caneiru.
Albergues are so scarce on this Camino, there are very few and you have to reserve them.
I then did laundry. I love laundry.
We then went to the beach. It was wonderful. I swam. It was cold. There were some cliffs I wanted to jump off but when I scoped them out they didn’t look too good.
We made some rock towers and then got hungry. We went to the little beach restaurant and got beers, hoping to get food.
Then it got windy so we went back to the Albergue to eat. I wasn’t hungry but nobody was either so they all just gave me their leftovers. Free dinner.
Then we got a cake for Noa’s birthday.
It was like a thick cheesecake. Kinda gross.
Ate it, then went downstairs to drink a bottle of cider, look at the stars and hang out.
I put on my green sweater because it was cold and they told me I look like TinkyWinky from Teletubbies.
Then bed time.
My clothes haven’t dried yet so I have them hanging up around my bunk bed. They are my curtains.
Getting up at 7am to walk to Pinerira I think.
Photos will be uploaded when I wake up. Bad internet and I want a good sleep in a normal bed.
See y’all then,
David
