Gammonia.

Woke up on this fine morning feeling refreshed.

I packed up and got on the road. Was a couple minutes behind so it was only me and Tim, the rest of the group had already left.

We were taking the scenic route today to La Caridad. Along the coast.

Tim and I took a short cut and cut ahead of the group, and then sat on a rock and waited about 30 minutes for them to catch up.

They caught up and we continued walking, eventually arriving into Navia. We walked along the beach, then into town and we stopped at a cafe.

I was craving protein and meat so I got a tortilla and a tuna/egg sandwich. Really filling.

Got back on the road, this part solo.

I did more life planning. Was great. Also found out Billy Joel now has a Documentary. I really want to watch it but I fear it would count as breaking my streak of not listening to music.

I passed up Pau and Pol, and arrived into La Caridad at 1pm. A very small town. Also a Sunday so even more dead.

There was nobody here, and checkin wasn’t until 7:30. I showered and did laundry. Also let my laundry from yesterday dry too. Stuff doesn’t dry too fast in the north.

Then we went out and got some food. I split cachopo with Lucy and we all also got beers. The cachopo was good, apparently it’s worldwide known as the best.

On our way back home, Pol and I walked by a candy shop we saw on the map.

It was 3 vending machines.

I got sour belts and he got chocolate milk.

We all went back and took naps.

Later we went outside to play cards.

We played Lucy’s version of Kombio, and then also tried some card tricks.

Aaron was making cards fly and Josefine started yelling “yayaya” in excitement. Let out her Viking energy.

That became the laugh for the rest of the evening.

We then went back to the same bar and got dinner. I wasn’t hungry so only had red wine.

I learned about Eurovision, and that ABBA gained popularity and fame from winning in 1974 by singing Waterloo. Crazy. Why doesn’t the US do this?

We also talked about Camino plans. Tomorrow half of us will end Caminos in Ribadeo and the rest will continue on.

I’m going to speed up tomorrow because I’m going really slow. I hope to arrive in Santiago in around 6 days.

Then we left, went back home and got ready for bed.

Today was fun. Pretty chill but relaxing. Not much to do in the town and I also was very tired. My social battery was low today.

I think I’ll walk solo most of the time tomorrow.

See y’all then,

David
