Assalamu alaikum.

Today we got up early to go to Viana. I missed my alarm, and instead of waking up at 5:30, I woke up at 6:11am because Max came and woke me up. I felt so bad.

We got on the road real quick with Céline and Josefine around 6:30am. We hauled ass, but we also knew that we only had 18km to walk today. So we took our time, stopped at every town and got a little snack.

We stopped at a town very early on, they got coffees and I had a Cesar salad I had bought from last night that I ate.

We continued on. Max even found a big bug and he started mocking me, because I told them all that 5 years ago I ate a cockroach for $200.

Continued walking, and then found an igloo looking cave made of rocks. I immediately climbed in and found this note.

We continued on our way, making it to Viana by Noon. We took many breaks, for we knew it would be a short walk so we took our sweet time.

The lovely couple from Denmark also met us here, and the three Kiwi’s. One of them reminds me of my Nana and the other reminds me of my Mother. They’re awesome.

We arrived an checked into the albergue, and we did laundry and showered. Then we went out for some food, got some drinks and enjoyed the sun out on the grass.

After some time, we went in and Julio was making asada tacos in the Albergue kitchen for 7 euros per person. We ate. We ate good. All 13ish of us ate very good.

The food was so much better than what we ate for lunch.

After dinner, Max and I did dishes, cleaned up, and then we all went outside and had a glass of wine and enjoyed the sunset.

We went back in, and I prepared the room for some airflow with the British fellows so we didn’t get as hot as we were last night. I used my hair ties and my S-hook to latch the door open. Thanks dad for teaching me how to be resourceful.

We went to sleep early. We want a lot of rest tonight so we can wake up around 7:30.

Tomorrow we walk about 10km to Logroño. That will take about 2.5 hours. We are in no rush to beating the heat. We might spend a couple days there to relax, but that will be a game time decision.

See y’all then,

David
